Last month, Torquay hosted the International Agatha Christie Festival. As part of the celebrations, the Honourable Alexander Clifford (current custodian of Ugbrooke House) invited the festival's podcast team for a special visit.

🌳 Fridays like these… meandering around Ugbrooke’s 3,000-acre estate.

This wonderfully beautiful parkland is a testament to the work of renowned 18th-century landscape architect, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. Known for transforming country estates into natural, serene environments, Brown’s influence is still visible today.

His designs at Ugbrooke included damming the Ug brook to create two large lakes and planting a range of trees such as English Oak, Turkey Oak, and Spanish Chestnut, creating a landscape that feels timeless.

So before time runs out, do pop by for a visit to our open gardens and grounds.

We’re open tomorrow and Wednesday from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm (with the last admission to the grounds at 3:00 pm).

Adults £10 / Children 0-16 are FREE.

As always, the Orangery tearoom will be open for light lunches, sweet treats and scrummy Devon cream tea. ☕️
