The Design

Ugbrooke Park was designed by Capability Brown and offers tempting glimpses of distant Dartmoor. The Estate is situated in the gentle valley of the Ug brook which falls through a series of picturesque lakes. The gardens stretch down to the lakeside unveiling delightful views at every turn. The parkland contains groups of fine mature trees, including Sessile, Red and Luccombe Oak, Giant Redwoods and magnificent English tree species.

The lake is well stocked with trout and home to numerous wildfowl. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity while strolling along the lakeside to the water splash cascading to the bottom lake.

Relax by the pretty Picking Garden and sample the many aromatic varieties of herbs.

The Victorian conservatory overlooks the courtyard.

The 18th century Orangery overlooks the parterre with its collection of palm trees and views of the garden beyond. It is the perfect place to have tea.

Disabled groups are welcome; wheelchair access allows visitors to view rooms on both levels of the house, the garden and grounds.

This attractive Tulip tree is one of the many mature trees on the estate.

The lakeside walk leads to the water splash and falls.

This Edwardian letter box is one of the unusual water features in the grounds.
